Arizona State University Health Services, University Outpatient Clinic

Tempe, AZ | 2008

Utilizing the cast-in-place structure from the existing Student Health Services Building, the renovation and expansion of Arizona State's University Health Clinic is centered around a concierge-style service diagram. The centralized greeting area efficiently re-directs patients to different clinical zones. Sustainable elements include tranquil water gardens and a green cooling tower that passively cools not only the building entry, but also the outdoor area at the landing of the ASU bridge. Merzproject assisted the University with a conceptual design study and marketing campaign for the project. Creative and intense workshops with staff and student advisory committees led to a project that would satisfy user needs and inspire the student community. The successful design and marketing campaign helped to obtain financial support for the project from the ASU students, staff, parents, and the community.
