West Virginia University, Blanchette Rockefeller Neurosciences Institute

Morgantown, WV | 2008

The Blanchette Rockefeller Neurosciences Institute (BRNI) on West Virginia University's Health Sciences Campus reflects the mission of both institutions to foster multidisciplinary collaboration in the study of the brain and its diseases. A flagship for the Institute, the facility has been designed as a hilltop gateway to the healthcare campus. The architectural concept is based on the soaring nature of the curved roofs which step up, reaching aspirationally to the horizon. The building is broken into smaller volumes and united by the roof forms, a metaphor for many ideas coming together to form a single thought.

The facility contains flexible molecular and biochemistry research labs, and meeting and office space.
