Project Support - Boston
Boston, MA

As part of the administrative support team, project support members are responsible for organizing, coordinating and prioritizing project assignments to meet the needs of project teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as the point of contact and provide proactive support for team and members.
  • Act as a liaison with the client and consultants.
  • Answer staff questions, be resourceful and point individuals in the right direction as needed.  
  • Provide IT support on an as needed basis for teams. i.e. format issues, computer technical issues, etc.
  • Maintain project team calendars.
  • Organize and promote team activities.
  • Distribute materials – physically and/or electronically.
  • Provide Construction Administration support such as posting of drawings, filing, logging in and distribution of Submittals, Bulletins and Document Control.
  • Coordinate project documentation – i.e. proposals, contracts, and additional services letters.
  • Type, format and proofread correspondence, including but not limited to meeting notes, agendas, and field reports, etc.
  • Coordinate travel and conference sign up.
  • Assemble presentation materials as needed.
  • Schedule meetings – reserve conference rooms and audio visual equipment, coordinate refreshments, set-up video conferencing or web based meeting software, as necessary.
  • Assemble schedules.
  • Perform basic research.
  • Enter client contacts into Deltek and link to Newforma Project Team.
  • Back up other Project Support staff.
  • Provide Switchboard relief.
  • Other duties as requested by Human Resources and Project Support Manager.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

None; however, may lead, train, or participate in work team assignments.

Qualifications:

  • College degree in design field or similar preferred.
  • Highly proficient in MS Office programs and Outlook.
  • Familiarity with Newforma, Deltek, OpenAsset, Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator are a plus.
  • Experience in office environment preferred.
  • Understanding of concepts, practices and procedures in the design profession are a plus.

Entry-Level Architectural Designer

Shepley Bulfinch is seeking an Entry Level Architectural Designer!


The Architectural Designer will assist with the internal production of architectural drawings. Responsibilities include partnering with the project architect to develop plans, elevations and RCPs. The Architectural Designer can expect to work with a more experienced architect to draft plans, usually working off redlines or getting direction in a meeting, and then coming up with options based on these overall concepts.

The successful candidate will have a strong and diverse design portfolio, will be interested in working on projects from concept design through construction administration, and in working in a fast-paced environment, often balancing priorities of multiple small projects. This person will be a self-starter who is able to work independently and with some direction.

Qualifications:

  • Architectural Intern / Designer experience
  • Ability to use Revit in a professional environment preferred
  • Proficiency with Adobe Create Suite, rendering programs, and MS Office
  • B.Arch or M.Arch, or equivalent degree, graduating Spring 2018

  • 2-5 years Architectural experience
  • Ability to use Revit in a professional environment preferred

We are seeking a well-rounded junior project architect to join our Boston office. Primary responsibilities include managing a team of 2-4 people, leading the internal production of architectural drawings, interfacing with clients, and mentoring the team. Strong technical knowledge, interior and exterior detailing skills, and the ability to manage workplans on fast-paced projects are required. Additional qualifications include: B.Arch., M.Arch. or equivalent degree; architectural registration; a minimum of 4 years working on all phases of projects; and advanced proficiency in Revit. Experience working with institutional clients preferred. Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, Newforma, and Outlook is highly desired.

Interior Designer (5-10 Years Experience)

Interior designer (5-10 years experience)

We are seeking an interior designer to join our practice who thrives in a highly creative and collaborative environment. Responsibilities include participation in all phases of a project including but not limited to conceptual design, space planning, architectural interior detailing – including millwork and RCPs, development of finish and furniture concepts, and writing furniture specifications. Knowledge of lighting is a plus. Additionally, this role includes the opportunity to lead and mentor internal team members, and communicate with clients. 
 

This position is ideal for someone:

  • Who has a highly structured and organized approach, with experience working on education or healthcare spaces.
  • Whose prior experience includes collaborating with a team and interfacing with clients at a high level.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, preferably from a CIDA accredited program
