Architecture is in my blood. Some of my happiest childhood moments were spent accompanying my father to his firm or latest project. Growing up in a creative environment was inspiring, and I got to learn first-hand the importance of design through my dad. He stressed the significance of being inquisitive and observant to thoroughly understand how a thing or a system worked. This shaped my learning methods and guided my approach to creative problem solving.
I left college with a degree in fine arts and a passion for sculpture—making an object with a thoughtful underlying idea. I was driven by the challenge of connecting and juxtaposing materials. As my work shifted toward a human scale, I was drawn to the collaborative environment of architecture.
These methodologies still influence me today, as I seek thoughtful and deliberate ways to put ideas and materials together to create architecture that is exciting, unique, and responsive.
